A little bit more about me
Hey! I'm Tarini Naik, a UX Designer-Researcher passionate about creating meaningful, accessible experiences.
Currently, I'm a Research Fellow (RF) at Microsoft Research India (MSRI) on the Technology for Empowerment team, focused on accessibility and societal impact. As the first design RF in fifteen years at MSRI, I’ve had the opportunity to explore the intersection of design and technology in depth. My role involves collaborating with NGOs and academic institutions to co-design delightful and inclusive digital experiences for diverse communities with disabilities. I’ve led projects across Human-Computer Interaction, Accessibility, and Service Design, focused on creating human-centered solutions that strengthen the connection between people and technology.
Before MSRI, I graduated with a degree in Industrial Design from the Srishti Institute of Art, Design, and Technology, where I completed my thesis with the Ludic Design for Accessibility team at MSRI.
Beyond UX Design, I have a passion for product and furniture design, particularly the tactile aspects of material handling and making. My creativity also extends into music and writing; I’ve studied Hindustani classical music and Tabla for 10 years, write poetry, and sing in my free time. I’m inspired by music, people, and nature, and I often rewatch favorite series, enjoying the small details I missed the first time.
