LOTUS CHAIR

Replicating a classic by Gio Ponti

Classics are a source of inspiration and a powerful learning tool. Replicating classics allows understanding of material behaviour and process constraints which are essential to development of good craftsmanship.
The process of making this chair involved dealing with different materials like metal, foam, fabric which gave a lot of material handling experience.

Image of the Replica I made. The chair is a red velvet lounge chair with a rounded, enveloping design, placed in a dark room with concrete flooring. The chair has sleek black legs and an inviting, curved shape, creating a cozy and sophisticated look against the minimalist, industrial background.
